WeWork Has Signed Lease With Bethesda Property

BETHESDA, MD — WeWork, an office space-sharing startup based in Manhattan, has inked a lease with The Wilson in Bethesda.

The company will move into The Wilson, a 361,000-square-foot office building on Wisconsin Avenue, once construction is complete. The Wilson is set to open in the summer of 2020.

WeWork's recent signing puts the building at 80 percent leased, according to officials at Carr Properties, the real estate developer behind The Wilson.

"We are thrilled to have WeWork join us as a valued customer at The Wilson," said Carr Properties CEO Oliver Carr III. "They bring a dynamic and innovative presence to this state-of-the-art development in the heart of Bethesda."

Once construction is complete, The Wilson will be located at 7272 Wisconsin Ave. and house multiple office spaces.

This will be WeWork's first location in Bethesda, according to the company's site. To date, WeWork has more than a dozen shared work spaces in the D.C. metro area.
