Wheaton Man Dies in DC Car Crash; Speeding Blamed
Metro Police say a Wheaton man was speeding in his Mercedes when it slammed into a pickup, then rolled, killing the driver.

Wheaton, MD — Police say a Wheaton man was driving his Mercedes-Benz at a high rate of speed just before it struck another vehicle and then overturned, killing the driver.
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating the crash that happened just before 9 p.m. Saturday in the 2500 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest. Police say the driver pronounced dead at the scene is Vincent King, 50, of Wheaton.
King was driving a speeding 2005 Mercedes-Benz southbound when it struck a 2010 Ford F-150 pickup truck in the rear, DC Police say. The impact caused the pickup truck to cross the double yellow line, jump the east-side curb, strike a tree and light pole, and overturn.

Police have not identified the pickup trucks driver, who was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.
King's Mercedes went over the west-side curb, struck a chain link and a fire hydrant, and overturned. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services arrived on scene where they found no signs of life, and King was pronounced.
