When and Where to Watch Fireworks in Montgomery County

Chevy Chase has a picnic and parade planned for its residents on July 4. Plus, check out events in DC and surrounding cities.

The Town of Chevy Chase will host an Independence Day picnic and parade on July 4, from noon to 2 p.m. on the Lawton Center Grounds.

American flags are available in the Town Office beginning June 15 for residents to pick up and display in their yards in preparation for the holiday.

On July 4, the parade will begin at noon at the Lawton Center with bike, scooter, wagon and baby carriage decorating starting at 11:30 a.m. The town will provide decorating supplies.

Chevy Chase will treat residents to a barbeque catered by Red, Hot & Blueand the famous Ben and Jerry’s ice cream truck from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Vegetarian options will be available upon request. Reservations for the lunch were due June 26.

Rockville 4th of July Celebration

Rockville’s Independence Day Celebration is moving to Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park. This new location offers better spectator viewing and ample and convenient parking, as well as a larger fireworks display. The entertainment and fireworks can be viewed from the park grounds. Kensington Fourth of July Bike Parade

Saturday, July 4, 9:45 am - 1 pm

The 20th annual Bike Parade will be held on Saturday, July 4, at St. Paul Park. The Bike Parade begins at 10 am. This event is open to all kids who wish to decorate their bike, scooter, wagon or stroller and follow a Kensington Volunteer Fire Department truck through the streets of Kensington.
