Woman Stabbed to Death in Bethesda Apartment

Montgomery County Police say there is no danger to the wider community.

The fatal stabbing of a woman in her Bethesda apartment Tuesday was not a random act, police say, but the community is not in danger.

According to Montgomery County Police, a call about 10:11 a.m. reported a death in an apartment in the 11800 block of Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda. Police said the victim is a woman who appears to have been stabbed in her torso.

Police talked with a female roommate at the victim’s apartment. The identity of the victim and the roommate have not yet been released by police.

On the department’s Twitter feed, authorities said detectives believe the stabbing was not a random act and there is no danger to the community. Investigators believe the case is closeable.
