Would-Be Bank Robbers Sought By Montgomery Police
Montgomery County Police released photos of two men who tried to rob banks in Silver Spring and Washington, D.C.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Surveillance photos were released Wednesday by detectives, who believe the men pictured tried to rob a Silver Spring bank, as well as a Washington, D.C., bank on the same afternoon.
Montgomery County Police say the pair of would-be robbers entered the Capital One Bank at 8676 Georgia Ave. about 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 27. The first suspect approached the teller window with a note that demanded money. The second suspect also approached the teller window and served as a lookout.

The two suspects fled from the bank before obtaining any money.
Detectives think the same men tried to rob the BB&T Bank at 3101 14th St., Washington, D.C., about an hour before the failed attempt in Silver Spring.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspects is asked to contact Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided that leads to the arrest and/or indictment of these suspects. Tipsters will remain anonymous.
