13-Year-Old Faces 2nd Degree Attempted Murder Charges After Shots Fired At Kids Walking

A 13-year-old faces 2nd-degree attempted murder charges and additional firearm-related charges after police say he shot at a group of kids.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A 13-year-old boy has been charged with second-degree attempted murder and additional firearm-related charges after Greenbelt Police say he shot at a group of middle school boys.

On Sept. 7, the group was walking home from school about 4:20 p.m. in the area of Springhill Lane and Springhill Drive when shots were fired at them. No one was injured.

The Greenbelt Police tweeted about the incident as officers searched for the suspect.

With help from the Prince George's County Police Department, the 13-year-old was arrested Friday and is being held at the Cheltenham Youth Detention Center.
