14-Year-Olds Arrested In Connection To Armed Carjacking: Police

Two 14-year-olds have been arrested in connection to the armed carjacking of a rideshare driver Saturday, police say.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Two 14-year-old males have been charged in connection to the armed carjacking of a rideshare driver.

On Dec. 10 at approximately 12:20 p.m., the victim called 911 after being carjacked at gunpoint in the 6400 block of Gifford Drive in Temple Hills. The victim had just picked up the two teenage suspects when they both pulled out guns and demanded her car. According to the Prince George's County Police Department, the driver feared for her life and complied.

While responding to the scene, patrol officers saw the carjacked car in the 5300 block of Temple Hills Road. When the officers turned around to stop the vehicle, the suspect lost control of the car and crashed. Both 14-year-olds jumped out and ran from the scene. They were caught a short distance away. A replica handgun was recovered on scene and found to be a BB gun, according to the police department.

The suspects have been charged with carjacking and were committed to a juvenile detention center.
