2 Bowie State Student Athletes Compete for Award

Voting is open online through Feb. 7 for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award program.

Two seniors are finalists in the Lowe's Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School (CLASS) Award program that recognizes top basketball players with outstanding personal qualities.

The finalists from Bowie State are:

  • Juliette Turner, a forward on the women's basketball team majoring in sports management
  • , a guard on the men's basketball team majoring in communications

Turner and Clark will compete against 14 others in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), according to a release. Click here to vote online until Feb. 7.

“The CIAA is excited to highlight the contributions of our student-athletes in their community and the leadership skills they display in the classroom and on the court through this outstanding program by Lowe's,” stated Mickey Burnim, chairman of the CIAA, in a release.

Winners will be recognized by , a sponsor of the CIAA Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament, on March 1.
