2 New Canine Recruits Join Prince George's County Police Department, Retired K9 Dies
Two new canine recruits have been added to the Prince George's Police Department while a beloved retired K9 has died.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — The newest officers to join the Prince George's County Police Department have four legs, fur and are adorable yet with very important jobs to do.
The newest canine recruits to the police department's special operations division are Beau-Dacious who has been assigned to Cpl. Matteson and Eva who has been assigned to Cpl. Cicale.
Both Eva and Beau-Dacious joined the canine unit recently and soon will begin a 10-week training program prior to going into service.

The PGPD’s Special Operations Division-Canine Section recently shared information about the passing of retired K9 Zeva who first joined the agency in 2013 after serving two tours in Afghanistan with the U.S. Marine Corps. She was assigned to her longtime handler, retired Cpl. Brown. While with the PGPD family, Zeva continued her career as an explosive detection canine until 2017. She was 16 years old at the time of her passing.
