3 Suspects Smash Truck into ATM at Gas Station Near Hyattsville, Haul Machine Away: Police
Police think it may be connected to a string of other ATM thefts in the area.

MOUNT RAINIER, MD — Surveillance video of three suspects stealing an ATM from a gas station in Mount Rainier near Hyattsville may be connected to the recent series of ATM thefts in Prince George's County and the discovery of an abandoned U-Haul filled with ATM machines by D.C. police earlier this month.
Prince George's County police have released video, which is embedded below, of the suspects crashing a truck into the ATM to dislodge it on Dec. 20 in the 3200 block of Queens Chapel Road, then pulling it onto the back of the truck and driving off, according to a police report.
"This theft is one of six similar cases in the county in December," the report notes. "Of those six cases, suspects successfully stole four ATMs at different gas stations. In each incident, as many as four suspects were involved in the theft. Detectives are working to determine if the cases are connected."
