PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Four teenage boys ages 14-16 have been arrested and charged in connection to an attempted carjacking that unfolded Wednesday night. The 16-year-old has been charged as an adult.

The two 15-year-old boys, a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy are all from Washington, D.C. According to the Prince George's County Police Department, the incident happened around 11:10 p.m. in the 1500 block of Iverson Street in Oxon Hill. The victim told police officers that two suspects had approached her as she got out of her Kia sedan. A suspect pushed her to the ground and took her car keys. The suspects got into the victim’s Kia but ran away from the car when they saw it had a steering wheel lock. The suspects ran back to the green Kia Soul they arrived in and took off, the police department reported.

Less than an hour later, detectives and Division IV Oxon Hill Station patrol officers saw the suspect vehicle that they confirmed had been stolen. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle in the 4800 block of Indian Head Highway. The four teens in the Kia Soul bailed out of the vehicle and took off on foot. After a short foot chase, the four suspects were arrested. Two loaded handguns were recovered, too.
