PG County July 4 2017 Fireworks: Schedule Of Displays, Weather Forecast

If you haven't made plans yet for a fireworks show on Independence Day, we've found a few great spots to watch the show in PG County.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — It's that time of year once again, where we gather together as a nation and blow some fireworks up to celebrate our independence declared 241 years ago. But where should you go to watch Fourth of July fireworks in Prince George's County in 2017? We've got a few great options for you.

Sadly, the town of Bowie is no longer putting on a Fourth of July celebration. But you've got other options if you live in Prince George's County and want to enjoy Independence Day festivities.

The weather forecast is a bit dicey. The National Weather Service calls for scattered showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Look for mostly cloudy skies with a high near 93. The chance of precipitation is 40 percent. The chance of scattered rain showers before 2 am creeps up to 50 percent. Skies tonight will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 73.

Six Flags America will be hosting a "July 4th Fest" from July 2-4. "Celebrate the independence of our country with three jam-packed days of thrills and water park fun on Fourth of July Weekend at Six Flags America," a statement reads. "There will be fireworks and live entertainment every night." For more information click here.

  • College Park - University of Maryland, College Park. Parking Lot 1, off Campus Drive near the University Boulevard/Adelphi Road entrance. (301) 864-8877. Food and music start at 7 p.m., with fireworks around 9 p.m. Grass seating is limited, so bring your lawn chairs and blankets. Concessions will offer hamburgers, hot dogs, funnel cakes, ice cream, snow cones, soda and bottled water. Personal coolers are allowed. Alcohol and personal fireworks are prohibited on campus.
  • Greenbelt - Buddy Attick Park, 555 Crescent Rd., Greenbelt. Entertainment begins at 4 p.m. Fireworks at dusk. Call Weather Hotline for event updates: 301-474-0646.
  • Six Flags America - Mitchellville. (301) 249-1500. The amusement park sponsors a fireworks display for July 4th Fest for pass holders, with fireworks and live entertainment every night. The park will have fireworks and live entertainment every night July 2-4. The theme park is open those days from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Hurricane Harbor is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. with the pool decks and midways remaining open from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for the patriotic celebration each night.
