Woman Dies After Crashing Vehicle Into Front Porch

SUITLAND, MD — An 81-year-old woman has died after she crashed her vehicle into the front porch of a home on Towne Park Road, authorities said.

According to the Prince George's County Police Department, the incident happened Friday around 1:30 p.m. in the area of Brooks Drive and Towne Park Road. Police officers found 81-year-old Devereaux Shelton of District Heights at the scene of the crash. She was taken to a hospital where she died a short time later, according to police.

The preliminary investigation showed that Shelton hit the front porch of a property on Towne Park Road. No one was in the home at the time of the crash. The cause of the crash is being investigated, according to the police department.

Investigators ask that anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who has dash camera or home surveillance footage that may have captured the incident contact the Prince George's County Police Department.
