TEMPLE HILLS, MD — Detectives are searching for the driver who fatally hit an e-bike rider late Monday night.

When officers arrived, they found 20-year-old Manuel Mateo-Molina of Temple Hills in the road. He died of his injuries Tuesday, police said.

A preliminary investigation indicates that Mateo-Molina and the driver of the SUV were traveling in the eastbound lanes on St. Barnabas Road. Detectives say the SUV appears to have hit Mateo-Molina from behind. The SUV driver fled the scene.

The SUV may be dark blue and have front-end damage, detectives said.

Investigators ask anyone who witnessed the collision, or who has dash camera or home surveillance footage that captured the incident, to contact the Prince George's County Police Department.

Anyone with information about this case who would like to speak with an investigator is asked to call 301-731-4422.
