• Former Bowie Officer Sentenced After Firing Weapon At Driver (patch.com) — Bowie residents are learning the outcome of a high-profile case involving former city police officer Robert Warrington, who fired his weapon at a man along Collington Road near US Route 50 in 2024. After a bench trial, a judge convicted him of attempted second-degree murder and other charges, then imposed a 30-year sentence with all but 18 months suspended, to be served on home detention plus supervised probation. The incident raised serious concerns about police conduct and community safety in Bowie.
