AR-15 Rifle Found Next To Sleeping Teen By Mom: Prince George's Police
Police were called for help when a mom found an AR-15 rifle next to her sleeping 15-year-old son. The gun was loaded, police said.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A mom who discovered her teenage son sleeping with an assault rifle did the right thing, according to Hyattsville Police Chief Jarod J. Towers.
A press release posted on the police department's Facebook page stated that the 15-year-old was asleep Nov. 27 with a short-barreled AR-15 style rifle with a 30-round magazine in the well that contained two .223/.556 rounds.
A/Sgt. Pile, Cpl. McCauley, Pfc. Cherry and Pvt. Nasir entered the home using a rifle shield and entered the suspect’s bedroom. McCauley was able to get ahold of the rifle. Officers couldn't find a serial number on the rifle because it was covered by a blue glue-like substance.
