An arrest warrant has been issued for a high school student who took a gun to class. He has been charged as an adult.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A 17-year-old student has been charged as an adult after police say he took a gun to school.
The Surrattsville High School student was stopped at the school by school security personnel Monday at about 1:30 p.m. According to the Prince George's Police Department, school security personnel suspected the teen of having illegal drugs at school. When security personnel searched the student's backpack, they found a loaded ghost gun, meaning it didn't have serial numbers. During the search, the student took off and left school property.
The PGPD has obtained an arrest warrant for the student. He has been charged with multiple charges that include possessing a loaded handgun on person, handgun on person, possession of a dangerous weapon on school property and multiple drug-related charges.
