Beware of Online Marketing Companies

It happens all the time...

You get a call from a friendly yet ambitious sales guy that promises you the world. If you're a business owner, you've inevitably gotten a call from an online marketing company making a lot of promises. And the funny thing is they do this before they even get to know you, your business or your business goals. 

And here's the worst part. Once they get you on board they put up a giant smokescreen to keep you from seeing the truth.

They give you all these "success" metrics. Click-through-rates, bounce rates, impressions, pageviews and so on and so forth. 

Well I'm here to tell you the real truth. Regardless of all the visitors they can deliver to your site non of it matters unless one important metric goes up. That metric is the almighty sales! If your marketing efforts (online or otherwise) aren't increasing your sales volume than it is simply a waste of money and a hit to your bottom line. 

So beware. They're out there and they'll spoon feed you a bunch of numbers to keep you quiet.
