Bicyclist Killed After Car Runs Into Him From Behind in Capitol Heights: Police

Police are still investigating the incident, which resulted in the death of 53-year-old Lorenzo Queen of Hyattsville.

CAPITOL HEIGHTS, MD — A man is dead after a car smashed into a bicyclist from behind on Kenilworth Avenue in Capitol Heights over the weekend.

Police say 53-year-old Lorenzo Queen of Hyattsville was riding his bike near the intersection of Kenilworth Avenue and John Hanson Highway at around 1:15 a.m. on Oct. 23 when he was struck, according to a report from the Prince George's County Police Department.

"The preliminary investigation revealed the car and the bicyclist were both traveling northbound on Kenilworth Avenue," the report states. "For reasons which remain under investigation, the car ran into the back of the bike."

Queen died from his injuries. The driver of the car was uninjured.
