Hyattsville Bicyclist Killed In Hit-And-Run, Police Searching For Driver In Pickup

A 28-year-old bicyclist killed in a hit-and-run died eight days after the incident. Police are searching for a pickup driver in the case.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A bicyclist hit by a black pickup truck died from his injuries July 3. Detectives are searching for that vehicle and the driver, as the individual did not remain on the scene.

The incident happened June 25 shortly after 2:10 a.m. Prince George's County police officers were called to the area of East-West Highway and Chillum Manor Road in Chillum for a report of a collision. They found the bicyclist, Henok Geteta, 28, of Hyattsville in the road. He was taken to the hospital and died eight days later, according to the Prince George's County Police Department.
