Bowie Man Arrested After Making Threats with Revolver

A Bowie man was arrested on Monday after he threatened employees of a tree cutting service with a .357 revolver, according to police. The man was apparently upset that the men were cutting down a tree, according to Chief of Police John Nesky.

Bowie Police responded to the 8400 block of Church Lane around 4 p.m. after the armed man was reported. When they arrived on the scene, the man—later identified as 50-year-old David Randall—went back into his home.

Police said officers then set up a perimeter and asked neighbors to vacate the area before approaching the residence. There was no answer at the door after knocking several times, despite police hearing movement in the home.

Police finally made contact with the man through an open window in the back of the house.

The men he threatened identified Randall and he was arrested and taken to the Upper Marlboro Department of Corrections, charged with first-degree assault and reckless endangerment. There were no injuries or property damages in the incident, according to the Bowie Police Department.
