Bowie Will Pay Anybody Who Refers Successful Police Candidate

Bowie will pay $500 to anybody who successfully refers a new police candidate. The potential officers could also get a $9,000 signing bonus.

BOWIE, MD — The Bowie Police Department on Monday announced that it will pay $500 to anybody who refers a successful officer candidate. Referrers will collect their payments after their endorsee completes the hiring process. The new officers will be eligible for a signing bonus of $3,000 to $9,000.

"Now more than ever it is vital for our community to be part of the process of shaping the way it is served," Chief John Nesky said in a press release. "The future of policing begins now and it begins with our community."
