Boys Ages 13, 14 Killed Homeless Man: Prince George's County Police

BREAKING: Two boys have been charged for murder in connection to a fatal stabbing of a homeless man in Adelphi.

ADELPHI, MD — Two boys have been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a homeless man found in woods in Adelphi July 27, Prince George's County police detectives announced Thursday.

At about 8:10 a.m. Thursday, officers with the Maryland-National Capital Park Police Department responded to the 7800 block of West Park Dr. for the report of an unresponsive male. When they arrived, officers located the victim — later identified as Francisco Sagastizado — outside in the woods suffering from stab wounds, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Elias Portillo, 14, of Adelphi was arrested and is charged as an adult, police said. The second suspect is a 13-year-old boy who is charged as a juvenile, police said. Both suspects are charged with first and second degree murder.
