Join the Green Team at the Bowie Farmer's Market!

The food & wellness subcommittee of the Green Team is excited to launch a sustainability booth at the Bowie Farmer's Market this coming Sunday, June 9! The booth will be at the market on the 2nd Sunday of each month from June to November. Members of the Green Team will be on hand to talk to attendees about a number of topics related to the environmental impact of our food system. Come out each month to chat and to gain educational materials on the following topics:

• Regenerating your backyard through composting and native habitat creation
• Purchasing, cooking, and eating local & unique foods (such as edible weeds!)
• Environmental costs of conventional vs. organic farming
• Minimizing plastics used in food production, packaging, and transport
• Food contributions to climate change

We will have educational materials to share and we hope to have expert speakers as well! This will also be an opportunity for you to let us know your thoughts on how Bowie can become more green!! We are looking forward to seeing you at the market! 

The Bowie Green Team meets every 3rd Monday at City Hall and are open to the public. The Green Team subcommittees also welcome visitors to their meetings, and welcome those interested in volunteering to assist with their projects. Please email greenbowieblog@gmail.com for more information.
