Too Much Interest in Pinterest
Am I the only one drowning in this social media tsunami?
I never thought it would happen. At least not to me! About three months ago, I was wondering why my niece was so addicted to Pinterest. Now I know. For those of you who do not know what Pinterest is, it's a virtual pin board that allows you to share things you find on the web. I have boards on food, books, clothes, home ideas, makeup, fun things to do with the kids, etc. I could have very long and interesting conversations (in my mind) about my boards. Then there's Google Plus, Yammer, Amazon, Kindle, I-Pads, and the list goes on and on ad infinitum. Do the founders of these companies ever sleep? I don't think so, because if they do they'll be ousted by the next guy or gal faster than green grass through a goose. It's really good stuff though. I appreciate how easy All-recipes and Craigslist have made my life. However, my pre-New Year's resolution is to temper my Pinterest-ing just as I've tempered my Facebook-ing and Words With Friends-ing and other social media-ing (kinda). It's more reading, face-to-face conversations, walking and fresh air from here on out...if I can just keep my phone/email/calendar/mp3 player at home.
