Bus Driver Hospitalized After Fiery Crash In PG County: Police

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — One person was injured Thursday when a car collided head-on with a school bus in Prince George's County, according to police.

The crash happened around 8:40 a.m. in the 4600 block of Suitland Road, Prince George's County police said. The crash shut down a portion of Suitland Road between Shadyside Avenue and Rose Park Drive, police said.

The driver of the bus was taken to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening, police said. No other injuries were reported

The female driver of the car fled the scene following the crash, authorities told FOX 5.

At least five students were on the bus at the time of the crash, according to reports. The students were taken to Suitland Elementary School for evaluation.
