Child Pornography Charged To Prince George's Sex Offender: Police
A Prince George's County sex offender possessed child pornography, police said. Officers reported that they arrested the Beltsville suspect.

BELTSVILLE, MD — Police said they arrested a Beltsville registered sex offender on child pornography charges. Officers identified the suspect as 37-year-old Brian Werth. An incident report noted that he faces charges of:
- One count of solicitation of a minor to engage in the production of obscene matter
- Three counts of possession with intent to distribute pornography
- 10 counts of possession of child pornography
Troopers added that they got a tip about the online distribution of child pornography on June 24. The Maryland State Police explained that it arrested Werth, with the help of Homeland Security Investigations, when he visited his Hyattsville probation officer on Aug. 17.
Officers mentioned that they also executed a search warrant on Werth's home. Authorities informed that they learned Werth communicated with a minor in North Carolina. The write-up did not disclose what they discussed nor what offense led to Werth's listing as a sex offender.
