Cop Comes to Rescue When Snake Slithers Into House

An Oxon Hill man can't thank a Prince George's County Police officer enough for going above and beyond the call.

OXON HILL, MD β€” Sometimes, police are called on to protect and serve the public, not just from bad guys, but slithery, slimy creatures.

When Troy Fleet spotted a snake on the hallway floor of his mother’s Oxon Hill apartment, he admitted he freaked out. And he doesn’t care who knows it, because he wants to be sure the community knows how the Prince George’s County Police Department helped him out.

β€œI didn’t know what to do, so immediately I called police,” Fleet told FOX DC.

While snake removal is more of a job for animal control, Officer Logan Peed, who has been with the department for three years, came to Fleet’s rescue.

β€œNext thing you know, he came in there with jokes. Asking me, β€˜Are y’all scared of snakes? You don’t have pet snakes or nothing like that?’” Fleet told FOX.

Fleet shared his story with the TV station to make sure the public knows how the officer went out of his way to help. (Watch the video on the FOX website.)

The police department replied on Twitter, β€œProves there is no such thing as a routine call. Glad we could help!”
