Dashboard Camera Footage Released In Deadly Police Pursuit In Prince George's County

Dashboard camera footage has been released by the Office of the Attorney General in the deadly police pursuit that unfolded June 8.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — The Independent Investigations Division of the Office of the Attorney General on Friday released dashboard camera footage from the fatal police pursuit that happened June 8 in Prince George’s County. Killed in that crash was 66-year-old Jonny Morris of Brandywine.

At approximately 6:30 a.m. June 8, a Prince George’s County police officer saw two cars traveling in the area of Harry S. Truman Drive and White House Road in Upper Marlboro. The officer activated the lights and sirens, but the two vehicles continued traveling on White House Road and refused to stop.

One vehicle crossed the double yellow line and struck an unrelated vehicle head-on. The driver of the unrelated vehicle, Morris, was taken to an area hospital where he was later died. The driver of the vehicle being pursued that hit Morris was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The officer’s in-car camera was activated during the incident.
