Driver Killed During Theft Of His Vehicle, Suspect On The Lam: Prince George's Police
A 52-year-old Capitol Heights man died during the theft of his vehicle. A reward of $25K has been offered in this case, according to police.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A reward of up to $25,000 has been offered for information leading to an arrest and an indictment in the case involving a driver's death during the theft of his vehicle.
On Sept. 15 around 8:30 p.m., officers with the Capitol Heights Police Department responded to the 5700 block of Gladstone Way. The victim, later identified as 52-year-old Michael Fernando Davis of Capitol Heights, was found in the roadway suffering from trauma. He died a short time later at a hospital. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine his cause of death, according to the Prince George's Police Department.
A preliminary investigation indicates Davis suffered fatal injuries during the theft of his car. The suspect(s) crashed the car a short time after stealing it and left the scene on foot.
