DuVal High School Teacher Accused of Sending Lewd Texts to 16-Year-Old: Police

Police say the teacher also touched the student inappropriately in the classroom last month.

LANHAM, MD — Police have arrested a 66-year-old Prince George's County high school teacher for sending inappropriate text messages to a 16-year-old student, according to a report from the Prince George's County Police Department.

Police arrested Doney Olivieri of Southeast D.C., a teacher at DuVal High School in Lanham, on charges of sexual solicitation of a minor, fourth degree sexual offense and second degree assault.

"A relative of the victim called police on October 8th saying Olivieri sent the student inappropriate text messages from June to September of this year," the report states. "He's also accused of touching the student on the chest in a classroom in September."

Police arrested Olivieri on Monday. He admitted to sending the text messages, police said.

The report adds: "Anyone with information in this case is urged to call the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Children and Vulnerable Adult Unit at 301-772-4930.
