The City of Bowie's annual Arbor Day observance ceremonies will take place at Acorn Hill Park located on Stonybrook Drive at Sage Lane in Bowie on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 10:00 a.m.
Ceremonies include the presentation of the Tree City USA award to the City of Bowie. This award is granted annually to those communities meeting prescribed objectives in the planting, maintenance, and preservation of the urban forest. This will be the 19th consecutive year Bowie has received this award. Highlighting the ceremony will be the planting of both an Arbor Day Tree and recognition of the cooperation between the City of Bowie, residents, and local businesses. Arbor Day note cards will be given out to all program attendees, compliments of the City of Bowie.
