Bowie State University alumna Barbara Spencer Dunn, '96, shares her most recent publication entitled, Before and Beyond the Niagara Movement: As the Youth See It. This educational tool will inspire your 2012 year and beyond! Dunn's publication ties well into this year's Black History Month theme, Black Women in American Culture and History and the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War because it seeks to connect the dots of history, especially for younger generations. The publication also uses Dr. Carter G. Woodson, the founder of black history month as a voice of reason.
