Women’s History Month Program for Young Ladies

In celebration of Women’s History Month in March, the in Bowie, MD., will host “According to the Ladies,” a history program for ladies (and gentlemen!) of all ages.

Built in 1745, Belair Mansion has been the home of many strong and
interesting women. On March 26, from Noon – 4:00 p.m. four women from the past will return to share their stories and their lives with visitors to the Mansion.

The journey through Belair Mansion will be a journey through time, with ladies from the 18th, 19th and 20th century present to discuss their lives, your lives—and the differences between them.

What choices did they have…what choices did they make? How are they different from ladies of today – and how are they the same? Discuss families, clothing, food, amusements, fears and tears! A time travel passport will be issued to all participants. A patch is available for Girl Scout groups. The cost is $2 per patch; admission to the program is free.

The program is open to all. We request that Scout groups and home school groups pre-register. To schedule a group, or if you have additional questions, please call 301-809-3089 or email: museumevents@cityofbowie.org

Belair Mansion is located at 12207 Tulip Grove Drive in Bowie, MD.
