Ex-Boyfriend Convicted In Suitland Woman's Fatal Stabbing

Eric Anthony King has been convicted in the fatal stabbing of his ex-girlfriend, Diamond Abney, in October 2023.

SUITLAND, MD — The suspect wanted in the fatal stabbing of Diamond Abney in October 2023 has been convicted of first-degree murder and home invasion.

Eric Anthony King now faces a maximum sentence of life in prison, according to Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Tara Jackson.

Jackson stated that evidence presented at trial showed a history of abuse and threats leading up to the 2023 murder. Abney was King's ex-girlfriend, according to police.

On Oct. 23, 2023, around 11:50 a.m., Prince George's police officers were called to an apartment in the 3300 block of Curtis Drive in Suitland. When they arrived, police officers found 33-year-old Diamond Abney of Suitland unresponsive with stab wounds. She died at a hospital a short time later, Patch previously reported.

After stabbing the victim, then 25-year-old King fled the scene. With the assistance of the Prince William County Police Department in Virginia, King was located and taken into custody without incident at a motel in Dumfries, Virginia, police reported.
