Fatal Hit-And-Run In Prince George's Co. Prompts Police To Ask Public For Information

Prince George's Police are asking any witnesses of a fatal hit-and-run in Suitland to reach out to them. A 33-year-old man was killed.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — The Prince George's County Police Department would like anyone who witnessed a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run that happened Saturday night in Suitland to reach out to them.

Shortly before midnight, 33-year-old Carlos Maltez, Jr. of Suitland was found unresponsive in the intersection of Silver Hill Road and Suitland Parkway. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

A preliminary investigation indicates that Maltez was crossing the street when he was stuck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Silver Hill Road, according to the police department. The driver of the vehicle did not remain on the scene. Based on evidence detectives gathered at the scene, the involved vehicle sustained front-end damage and would be missing its driver's side mirror. Investigators believe the vehicle could be a 2013-2018 dark gray of gun metallic-colored Nissan Altima.
