Flags To Fly At Half-Staff In Honor Of David Harrington, Former Bladensburg Mayor
County flags will be flown at half-staff in honor of David Harrington, former Bladensburg mayor and County Council member.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — All county flags have been ordered to fly at half staff in honor of David Harrington, who passed away earlier this week at the age of 68.
“Our hearts are heavy as this community lost a great friend and a giant. David dedicated his life to service and to building a thriving business community in Prince George’s County,” Prince George's County Executive Angela Alsobrooks said. “As a tribute to his tireless work and service to our county, I have ordered county flags to be flown at half-staff for the next 30 days.”
Among his many achievements, Harrington served as Bladensburg mayor, a member of the Prince George’s County Council and a Maryland state senator, before serving as president and CEO of the Prince George’s County Chamber of Commerce for more than a decade. Harrington also was part of the county executive’s Forward Task Force as a member of the economic recovery subcommittee. The task force was comprised of industry leaders who helped map out the county’s path forward after the COVID-19 pandemic.
