Fraud Allegations Revealed In Lawsuit Against Former Hyattsville Mayor
A former Hyattsville mayor has been named in a lawsuit citing allegations of fraud involving public schools in Washington, D.C.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Former Hyattsville Mayor Kevin Ward took his life more than seven months ago and now, a complaint has been filed in federal court with allegations of fraud.
According to WMAR, an investigation has revealed Ward supposedly defrauded a group of public schools in Washington, D.C., known as KIPP. The fraud involves $2.2 million that was to be used for student technology devices and services.
Ward worked as KIPP's head of technology.
