Ghost Gun Recovered At Alternative School, Teen Charged As Adult: Prince George's Police
A 17-year-old freshman took a ghost gun to the Non-Traditional Program 9-12 South School in Cheltenham. He's been charged as an adult.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A 17-year-old boy took a loaded gun to school at the Non-Traditional Program 9-12 South School in Cheltenham Thursday.
At about 9:15 a.m., Prince George's Schools security personnel recovered the ghost gun from the 9th grade student. It was in his waistband and was found on floor of the gym, according to the Prince George's County Police Department.
The student has been charged as an adult with handgun on person, dangerous weapon on school property, possession of a firearm by a minor and loaded handgun on person, the police department disclosed.

Run by Prince George’s County Public Schools, the alternative school is for students in 9th-12th grades, according to its website. It used to be known as Croom Vocational and, according to its website, the program gives students the opportunity to earn the grades and/or credits needed to advance to their correct grade level with a focus on student engagement, academic interventions and goal development.
