Highway Shut Down After Woman Struck, Killed In PG County
Police have since reopened the northbound lanes of Indian Head Highway and continue to investigate the collision.

FORT WASHINGTON, MD -- A pedestrian was struck and killed on Indian Head Highway in Fort Washington Thursday morning, police say.
Police shut down the northbound lanes of Indian Head Highway during rush hour after the collision, diverting traffic onto Palmer Road. The lanes were reopened shortly before 11 a.m.
"Around 5:40 am a car was driving NB on Indian Head Highway and struck an adult female who was in the roadway," the Prince George's County Police Department said in a tweet. "She was pronounced dead on scene. The striking vehicle remained on scene while investigators are working to establish circumstances."
