Hoes Comes Up Huge in Doubleheader, Baysox in First Place
L.J. Hoes had an amazing day on Tuesday with two three-run home runs over the Portland Sea Dogs.

The tight race for first place continues as the Baysox won both games in their doubleheader against the Portland Sea Dogs at home on Tuesday to be on top of the Western Division, half a game a head of the Harrisburg Senators.
The first game was tight, with the Baysox coming back from a six-run lead to win the game 7-6. Bowie native L.J. Hoes led the comeback with a three-run homer that contributed to his three RBIs and two hits in the eight-inning game.
โI have kept the same swing, but I have changed my approach,โ Hoes said. โIโm trying to drive more balls and trying to hit the ball out in front instead of letting it get deep like I used to. Instead of trying to hit balls down the right field line, Iโm trying to drive balls and drive guys in.โ

The Baysox kept the momentum going into the second game, but left the bases loaded without scoring in the second and third innings. In the first inning however, Hoes came up big again, hitting yet another three-run homer to help his team to another one-run victory, with a 5-4 win over Portland.
With both wins in the doubleheader, the Baysox improve to 61-48 on the season. The Baysox take on the Sea Dogs again on Wednesday, and will be home for the next six games.
