Hyattsville Teen Dies After Being Hit By Car
A 16-year-old girl hit while crossing a road has died three weeks after the accident, say Prince George's County Police.

CHILLUM, MD — A Hyattsville girl died Tuesday from injuries she suffered three weeks ago when was hit by a car walking across a street, according to Prince George's County Police.
The victim is 16-year-old Keyri Alfaro-Guevara of 24th Avenue in Hyattsville.
On May 4, 2016, at about 9:50 pm, Police say Alfaro-Guevara was struck at the intersection of East-West Highway at 23rd Avenue in Chillum just before 10 p.m. on May 4. Officers found her suffering from critical injuries; she was taken to a hospital where she died on Monday.

Investigators say a car heading eastbound on East-West Highway struck Alfaro-Guevara as she tried to cross the street. It appears she was in a crosswalk at the time of the accident, but was crossing against the pedestrian signal.
The driver of the car remained on the scene, police said she was not hurt.
