Lanham Man Shot by Officer Drug by Fleeing Suspect's Car: Police
Prince George's County Police say a Lanham man whose car who drug a police officer remains in the hospital with a gunshot wound.

A Lanham man shot by a Bladensburg police officer after the suspect reportedly pinned the officer against a car with his vehicle is in intensive care at an area hospital, authorities said Monday.
Prince George’s County Police, which are handling the officer-involved shooting, released new details on the armed confrontation Monday afternoon.
WTOP reports the suspect is Dimas Guevara, 27, of Lanham has been charged with multiple crimes, including assault, hit and run and fleeing and eluding.

According to police, Officer Michael Luciotti responded to a domestic assault between the suspect and a woman in a restaurant parking lot early Sunday in the 4300 block of Kenilworth Avenue. Luciotti approached the couple, suspected Guevara was intoxicated and was then drug by the suspect’s car door as the officer tried to keep him from driving away.
Police say that while he was being dragged, Luciotti fired his weapon, striking Guevara before the suspect drove away from the scene and abandoned his car.

About 45 minutes later, a Prince George’s County Police officer stopped a car for a traffic violation in Lanham and found Guevara was a passenger in that car. Guevara was taken to a hospital, where he remains in intensive care.
Investigators say the officer fired his service weapon in self-defense.
Luciotti is a two-year veteran assigned to patrol. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries he suffered when struck by the car. He has been placed on administrative leave.
