Man Arrested For Armed Drug Trafficking: Prince George's Police

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A Silver Spring man has been arrested for being in possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

On Dec. 30, 2022, at approximately 10:10 p.m., officers were patrolling the 4400 block of Wheeler Road. While in the area, officers saw Raymond Jenkins, 29, slouched down in the front seat of a vehicle. They believed he needed medical attention and immediately conducted a welfare check. As officers carried out the welfare check, they could smell marijuana in the vehicle, which prompted a search of the vehicle, according to the police department.

Officers recovered a loaded handgun, as well as cocaine and marijuana with an approximate street value of $25,000.

Jenkins has been charged with drug and gun-related offenses.
