Man Charged With Six-Month-Old's Murder: Police
The boyfriend of a Landover girl's mother has reportedly admitted that he struck the baby, causing fatal injuries.
LANDOVER, MD — The boyfriend of an infant’s mother has been charged with fatally hitting the baby girl, who died Jan. 9 of blunt force trauma, police say.
The Prince George’s County Police Department on Thursday arrested Kareem Bryant, 23, of the 1400 block of 18th Street in Southeast Washington. He is charged with murder in the death of six-month-old Mariah Tilghman of 75th Avenue in Landover.
Authorities were called Jan. 6 to the baby’s home when she stopped breathing. The infant was rushed to an area hospital, but died three days later. An autopsy revealed the cause of death was blunt force injuries to the baby’s head and chest.

According to police, Bryant admitted causing the baby’s injuries. He is charged with second-degree murder and first-degree child abuse resulting in death.
Bryant was arrested Thursday in the District of Columbia and is awaiting extradition to Prince George’s County.
