Man Fatally Shot At Forestville Starbucks By Armored Truck Employee: Police

A man was fatally shot at a Forestville Starbucks by an armored truck employee. The incident remains under investigation, police noted.

FORESTVILLE, MD — An armored truck employee fatally shot a man inside a Starbucks near the Forestville Mall Wednesday around 2 p.m.

Prince George's County Police Department Acting Deputy Police Chief Zachary O'Lare spoke at a news conference outside the business after the shooting. O'Lare noted that the investigation is in the beginning stages and he didn't have much information he could release.

O'Lare confirmed that the armored truck employee was behind the counter "conducting business" when a man who was not an employee also walked behind the counter.

"What transpired from when the armored truck employee removed his handgun and fired rounds and killed the decedent, that's what we're currently investigating. We're conducting multiple interviews and going through evidence," O'Lare said.

Officials do not believe any employees were injured, O'Lare said.
