Hyattsville Man Found Fatally Shot In Burning Apartment: Prince George's Police

Firefighters battling a fire found a man fatally shot inside his apartment, according to the Prince George's County Police Department.

HYATTSVILLE, MD — Firefighters found a 56-year-old Hyattsville man shot dead inside his apartment that had been set on fire.

Roger Neal, 56, was pronounced dead on the scene at his apartment located in the 6100 block of 42nd Avenue. Firefighters had been called to the apartment Wednesday shortly after 2 p.m. for a 3-story garden apartment building fire that had broken out in the kitchen, according to the Prince George's County Police Department.

Police are now investigating the homicide. Anyone with information relevant to this investigation is asked to call the police department's homicide unit at 301-516-2512.
