Man Hit In Crosswalk By Driver Who Fled The Scene, Then Returned: Maryland State Police
Maryland State Police are investigating an incident where a truck ran a red light and hit a man in the crosswalk.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that happened Thursday evening in Prince George’s County.
Shortly before 7:45 p.m. Thursday, troopers from the Maryland State Police Forestville Barrack responded to the area of Central Avenue at Campus Way in Kettering for a report of a person who had ben hit by a vehicle.
According to a preliminary investigation, a white truck ran the red light and struck the 34-year-old man who was in the crosswalk. Investigators believe the driver left the scene, but later returned, according to the Maryland State Police.

The man whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was declared dead at the scene. The road was closed for about four hours following the crash.
