PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A 40-year-old Honduran national living in Leesburg, Va., has pleaded guilty to federal charges for a commercial robbery conspiracy and for committing an armed robbery of a U.S. Post Office.
According to his plea agreement, on Oct. 19, 2017, Juan Ramon Ramirez Delgado and his co-conspirators wore masks and, armed with guns, entered a U.S. Post Office in Brandywine. The suspects pointed their guns at the post office employees and demanded money. Ramirez Delgado and his co-conspirators then stole cash and a computer tower as well as other miscellaneous items. They then ran to a getaway vehicle parked nearby where another conspirator drove them away from the crime scene, according to the prosecutor.
Ramirez Delgado and the government have agreed that, if the court accepts the plea agreement, Ramirez Delgado will be sentenced to 10 years in federal prison and will be required to pay restitution in the full amount of the loss.
