Grocery Store Opens In Prince George's, County Battles Food Deserts
A grocery store opened in Seat Pleasant. This is the latest effort to combat food deserts in Prince George's County.
SEAT PLEASANT, MD — A grocery store called Good Food Markets opened Saturday in Seat Pleasant. The shop is situated in Addison Plaza Shopping Center, which has lacked a large grocer since 2016. This is the latest step in combatting local food deserts, or areas without supermarkets.
"We are working hard to bring grocery stores to food deserts so all Prince Georgians can have access to fresh produce and healthy food," County Executive Angela Alsobrooks tweeted after the grand opening of Good Food Markets.
